The final report meeting of the consortium study “Facing the Future: Additive Manufacturing” took place on the 9th of December 2015 in Aachen. After nine month the study came to a successful conclusion. About 30 participants of renowned international companies from different industries, such as Hilti AG, Covestro Deutschland AG and Knorr-Bremse AG, were part of the closing event of the study regarding additive manufacturing.
This consortium study aspired to create economic and technological transparency and to point out future trends and developments of additive manufacturing technologies. The final report meeting included workshop sessions and discussions with experts in which the study results were presented in detail. Furthermore, the keynote speech of a renowned lawyer from Munich about „Additive Manufacturing – Legal questions and answers“ recieved very positive reviews.
Representatives of the KEX expert network, e. g. ACAM Aachen Center for Additive Manufacturing and Fraunhofer Institute for Prodution Technology IPT, were available to answer questions and to exchange knowledge and opinions. On completion of the consortium study, participating companies will get the chance to become a partner of the ACAM Aachen Center for Additive Manufacturing and therefore to benefit from a community of renowned experts from research and industry.
Due to the positive response and the successful results, KEX AG is already planning a third round on the topic additive manufacturing for 2016.
